Malasmadres is an emotional community 3.0 of a very sleepy mother, without time and the desire to change the world or at least not o die in the attempt … It was born two years ago in a twitter account @malasmadres with the aim of demystify motherhood and break the myth of “the perfect mother”. Laura Baena, the founder, felt the need to share her vision of a real motherhood, in order to claim a new social model of mother. Mothers who fight to not lose them identity as a woman and who laugh at our failed attempts to be perfect mothers. From an individual feeling to connect with a social need and become a trend movement that, with a lot of sense of humor, breaks stereotypes.

SOCIAL IMPACT

They are already more than 500 thousand mothers in social networks and they have become speaker of a generation. With a common struggle: conciliation. Because they are mothers who do not want to give up them professional career, but we also do not want to give up seeing them children grow. Under the slogan “I Do not Resign” they have been fighting for two years, reaching 300,000 signatures on our change.org/norenuncio petition and creating the “I Do not Resign” Association.
She was the creative supervisor of an advertising agency in Madrid but everything changed when she became a mother and found that conciliation was not viable. Then she began to write her thoughts on the social networks, to try to share her concerns and found that she was not alone. “Malasmadres is born from an individual feeling, from feeling bad mother”, says Laura Baena. But the personal became a collective and for four years now it has been a powerful social speaker that, beyond ironies and good humor, revindicate in depth the change towards true equality.

The club was born some years ago and like an answer to the personal situation that Laura was living. As a escape of the crazy life that mothers take, of criticism to that canon of perfection that society demands of mothers and to break with the traditional mother model, so ingrained, that it is not sustainable in the current situation that we live. It was for me a way to get rid of the guilt of not being that perfect mother, to laugh at her daily failures and to share with other mothers who felt like her a way of living different motherhood. she began by opening a dialogue in social networks with the bad mothers, asking them “what was your merit of badmother? Why would they canonize her one day like badmother? ” And from those daily anecdotes, the TIPs of the day were born, which undoubtedly are the daily relief of all the real mothers who are part of this community. In the end it is to show that nothing happens, that a mother is not a better mother because she reaches that level of perfection of having controlled every aspect that concerns motherhood and the home. And that we are human, that as much as we want our good children, we also have moments of despair, of vital chaos, of feeling lost and needing our own space. It is not only the search for work-family reconciliation, but also the search for the reconciliation of maternal life with your personal space, so necessary to survive and not die in the attempt. We fight against the concept of superwoman that we have sold. We are not and we do not want to be because that would only lead to frustration at not arriving.
